Questa qui è una band che ci piace molto. Parlo dei Myrrors, collettivo space-rock e psych proveniente da Tucson, Arizona. Stati Uniti d’America.
L’occasione è l’ultimo extended play pubblicato dalla band lo scorso maggio e uscito in edizione limitata di sole cinquanta copie numerata per pochi aficionados. Il disco, che conta di sole due tracce, è stato registrato presso lo Studio Grande di Tucson, Az. Mixato dallo stesso Nik Rayne, una delle menti del progetto e peraltro non nuovo a sedersi in cabina di regia per quello che riguarda la registrazione, la produzione e il mixaggio dei lavori della band, trattasi in verità di un’unica lunga session di circa 25 minuti registrata in presa diretta e rilasciata in occasione del tour nel sud-ovest degli Stati Uniti dello scorso maggio. Da qui, è evidente, il titolo: ‘Southwest Tour EP’.
Già assorti all’onore delle cronache dopo la pubblicazione dell’ultimo LP, Arena Negra (Beyond Beyond Is Beyond Records), che per chi scrive è uno dei massimi dischi del genere neo-psichedelico uscito nel corso degli ultimi dodici mesi e quindi nell’ultimo anno 2015. Disco che peraltro costituiva una conferma dopo quel prezioso dischetto che fu, che è ‘Burning Cirles In The Sky’, uscito nel 2008 e adesso riproposto dagli amici della Fuzz Club Records.
Prossimi alla fine di un tour europeo durato due mesi, per i Myrrors arriva finalmente il momento di raccogliere per quello che riguarda il riscontro non solo di pubblico, ma anche della critica. Per noi, affezionati a queste sonorità sognanti e sempre desiderosi di imbarcarci in un trip psichedelico e dalle atmosfere desertiche e allucinate come queste, ogni loro nuova pubblicazione è un’occasione imperdibile.

We really dig this band. I’m talking about The Myrrors, the space-rock and psych collective from Tucson, Arizona, United States of America.
The occasion is the last extended play released by these guys and that was out last may in a limited edition of only 50 numbered copies. Just for the ‘aficionados’. The disc has got only two tracks. It was registered at the Studio Grande in Tucson, Az. Mixed by Nik Rayne, one of the member of The Myrrors and previously went on in register, produce and eventually doing the mixage of the other works released by the band, the album is a one session 25 minutes long registered live and released with the occasion of a tour they made in the south-west of the Usa last may. This is because, it is evident, it is called: ‘Southwest Tour Ep’.
There was a good speech about their last LP, ‘Arena Negra’ (Beyond Beyond Is Beyond Records), that for who is writing it is one of the most neo-psychedelic album of the last twelve months and of the 2015 year. The album was on the other hand also a new good episode in the history of the band after ‘Burning Circles In The Sky’, out in 2008 and recently released also on Fuzz Club Records.
Next to the end of an European tour lasted two months, for The Myrrors it is the moment to take good feedbacks from the public and from the critics too. For us, then, who really like this kind of sound and dreaming atmospheres, who love to embark ourselves on board to a ship travelling in a sea made of lysergical psychedelic trips and allucinatios, every their record it’s something we need absolutely to listen to. So we made it.
